About the Author
Pearl Bradley has been a guidance counselor in the Shelby County School District in Memphis, Tennessee for over 20 years. During this time she has counseled children in the age range of 5 to 13 and helped them work through various issues in their lives. In her line of work, she has encountered children who have lost loved ones or have been witnesses to gun violence. She noticed that there were no reading materials that were written on a child’s level that might help them work through such a distressing time in their lives. This lack of material inspired her to write “Someone I Love Got Shot” and she hopes that this book will reach everyone who is dealing with the emotional aftermath of a shooting. Her goal is that it will allow children to be more open about their feelings and begin the healing process in a healthy way.
